Syakirah's Career Development Plan 

My Career

In January 2012, I started my teaching career as a part time teacher in Sekolah Agama Menengah Paya Jaras. Then, April 2012, I work as a teacher in Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Wal Qiraat Shah Alam until now. As of now, I have 5 years of experience as an educator. There are still a lot to learn and improve therefore I have to constantly work to enhance my teaching skills and my knowledge in order to become an effective teacher.

My Plan

Currently, I am doing my part time study in Master of Education (Chemistry) and part time teacher at Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Wal Qiraat Shah Alam . I am planning to apply job as a permanent teacher. After completing this Master of Education course, I plan to continue teaching the Form 4 and Form 5 students in the secondary schools. In the meantime, I will try to apply anything that I have learnt during the Master course to my teaching in the classes. Hopefully, I will be able to improve my style of teaching and thus assist the students towards their success in the Chemistry subject.

Five years after that, I will try to apply for the post of Matriculation College or A Levels University lecturer. I choose this way because I want to try teaching students at a higher level than the SPM level. I may be able to enhance my knowledge and skills in the process. Besides, I want to gain the experience of teaching more mature students. They will be vastly different from the Form 4 or Form 5 students in terms of their attitude or seriousness in studying. I may be able to improve my approach towards the students unlike now.
